New Sanitary & Storm Sewers

Please be advised that the City of Inkster is starting a new construction project in the southeast area of the City between Annapolis and Michigan Avenue and Beech Daly and Inkster. The project will consist of the construction of new sanitary and storm sewers to help eliminate the Combined Sewer over flows during rain events. The project will also include some road and water main replacements.

The design phase of this project is anticipated to go through the fall of 2011. The construction phase is anticipated to start in the spring of 2012 through the fall of 2013. Detailed information on the project routes and construction schedule will be provided as details become available.

Staff from the Engineering and surveying firm of Spalding DeDecker Associates, Inc. (SDA) will be on site starting in November through the end of the year performing survey and sewer inspection work. They will mostly be working in the road right-of-way but will occasionally need to work in the alleys to open sewer structures and collect information. Their work will not require the removal of landscaping or otherwise impact residential properties.

SDA personnel will be on site during regular business hours. Their vehicles will have the SDA logo on them and they will be wearing safety vests and carrying SDA photo identification badges. If you have any questions or concerns about the work, please do not hesitate to contact Maria Sedki at SDA at 248-844-5400.
