SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, has launched a survey to gather residents’ perspectives on public-sector careers in Southeast Michigan – careers that include police officers and firefighters, public works, transportation professionals, and teachers.
Citizens are asked to take this quick survey. Responses will help guide our planning efforts as we implement recommendations of the Future Skills: Preparing for the Changing World of Work report.
“Our local government members tell us that hiring and retaining their workforce is challenging for many reasons including low regional unemployment rates and lack of awareness of these types of careers,” said Kathleen Lomako, SEMCOG Executive Director. “Results of this survey will help us in working with our members to promote these important careers.”
This survey is powered by Cobalt Community Research, a Michigan-based 501c3 nonprofit research coalition with a mission to provide research and educational tools that help schools, local governments, and other nonprofit member organizations thrive as changes emerge in the economic, demographic, and social landscape.
SEMCOG is the only organization in Southeast Michigan that brings together all governmentsto solve regional challenges and enhance the quality of life.
