Giving Tuesday Success

Head Start students will now receive hands-on education in healthy habits and nutrition.

#GivingTuesday is the international day for online giving on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. This Tuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a way to share your reasons for the holiday season. Donors like you can help us raise funds to purchase supplies for indoor and outdoor gardens this #GivingTuesday.

Head Start and Early Head Start students range in age from 3 to 5 years old and come from families and communities that often lack resources. Called “food deserts” by the USDA, communities in which we work often lack access to fresh produce with few stores. Obesity, diabetes, and heart disease are too common health issues.

Our young students share an enthusiasm for learning and hands-on activities. They tackle new challenges with passion and curiosity that inspires us to provide them with the best and most beneficial learning opportunities possible. Please help Wayne Metro provide green, healthy gardens!

Thank you to those who contributed and helped us empower our classrooms to be strong, healthy and thriving!
