The Inkster Auxiliary Police Unit plays a crucial role in our community, comprised of approximately 40 dedicated civilian volunteers. These individuals have completed an extensive 26 weeks of rigorous training, equipping them with essential skills in law enforcement, crime prevention, disaster response, firearms handling, and constitutional law.

A Commitment to Excellence

Each Auxiliary Officer has successfully passed a stringent background investigation, ensuring that they meet the high standards set by the Inkster Police Department. Furthermore, they have demonstrated their proficiency by completing the department's firearms qualification course, solidifying their readiness to support our community safely and effectively.

The Auxiliary Officers are more than just volunteers; they are vital members of the Inkster Police Department. Each officer commits to working a minimum of 24 hours per month, contributing to various functions within the department. Their responsibilities include:
