[ARCHIVED] Open Warming Center

Warming Center

In response to an approaching winter storm that is expected to bring possible blizzard conditions with a potential of 6+ inches of snow, wind gusts in excess of 50 mph bringing possible power outages and extremely cold temperatures, the Inkster Housing Commission has opened its community room at the Twin Towers to all IHC residents, and anyone in need.

The following location will be available from 5 PM until 8 AM Monday morning for residents in emergency situations to stay warm and charge their electronic devices.

  • Twin Towers 1900 Inkster Rd., Inkster, MI 48141

If you know or see someone out in the cold, please contact 911 or the non-emergency police line at (313) 563-9850. Our emergency personnel will work diligently to ensure they are taken to a safe place to stay warm.

Residents are also asked to keep our four-legged friends in mind during this extremely cold weather. Animals cannot handle being left outside in temperatures below freezing for more than a few minutes without being at extreme risk for hypothermia, frostbite, and even death.
